Hever: Typography experiments

This is the final week of experiments, the LAST CHANCE to record processes and techniques before the independent phase of this project 'the photo book'.

The lesson aims are:


1 To be able to describe the 'Totally London' work of Oscar Wilson
2 To respond to the work of Oscar Wilson by creating Calligrams from primary or secondary photographs
3 To record findings in sketchbooks in a clear and aesthetically pleasing A3 page layouts

10m STARTER: Briefly discuss Oscar Wilson, who he is, what he does? (GROUP TASK)
Record ideas and incites in your sketchbooks for use later


20m MAIN TASK: Creating Calligrams from primary or secondary photographs (GROUP TASK)  
Open up your sketchbooks and use the brief and your research pages (Hever review page, Hever leaflets) to make a list of words on a A5 sheet of paper that describe Hever, your experiences of Hever and what Hever is about.

20m MAIN TASK: Use the computers to find and print out 2 pictures (A4) to use for your own Calligram

10m PLENARY: Discuss where we are going, how we are to get there, what we need to bring to the next lesson and next weeks lesson.
